We are excited to have parent/teacher conferences tonight at Navajo. Due to Covid we are limiting to just parents in the buildings if at all possible and only come to the door to be let in at your scheduled time. Masks are recommended but not required. If you were unable to come please contact the building principal's to schedule a time next week as all spots are full for tonight. Students are allowed in the cafeteria if participating in Mr. Burks' project. Thank you for those providing food for our teachers during tonight's conferences.

September 7, 2021 Dear Navajo School Family, Navajo Public Schools was notified late today, September 7, 2021, of the first student COVID Positive case that would require close contact tracing at school. Parents will be notified if their child was listed as a close contact. With this new development, we want to be transparent and keep our community informed. Starting this Friday, September 10, 2021, we will post a weekly update each Friday, with numbers of COVID Positive cases for students and staff, along with numbers in Quarantine. Navajo Public Schools will be following the latest quarantine guidance from the CDC and the Oklahoma State Health Department. Students and employees who have been identified as a “Close Contact” with COVID 19 positive person will now be asked to follow these guidelines: • Quarantine can end after day 10 WITHOUT testing and IF NO symptoms have been reported. Students and employees can return to school on DAY 11. • The quarantine period can END after Day 7, IF a diagnostic specimen tests negative and NO Symptoms have been reported. Quarantined persons can test on days 5,6, & 7 BUT may NOT return to school or work until day 8 and only with proof of a negative test. • Students and staff who have been exposed to COVID 19 who have been FULLY vaccinated and have NO symptoms will NOT be asked to quarantine, unless symptoms develop. Navajo Public Schools will continue to work with the Jackson County Health Department, and follow guidance from the CDC and the Oklahoma State Department of Education to provide a safe learning environment for Navajo students and staff. Our greatest priority is the safety of our students, staff and community members. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family, especially as we faced this challenging situation together. Thank you for your support of Navajo Public Schools. Sincerely, Vicki Nance Superintendent Navajo Public Schools

Due to the nature of Covid-19 we are restricting visitors at this time as well as outside food/beverages from restaurants during lunchtime. Please continue to monitor your child's health and keep home if experiencing symptoms. We currently do not have any positive cases at the Junior High and High School level but have seen a rise in students quarantined due to being close contacts. Thank you for your help in keeping Navajo a safe place to learn.

Dear Navajo Families and Community Members, As we prepare for the 2021-2022 upcoming school year at Navajo Public Schools, we know there are many questions and concerns, concerning COVID-19. COVID -19 has changed the way we do things at home, in the community and at school. At this time, we are monitoring the COVID-19 updates/changes and ongoing CDC information/safety recommendations that we are all in the midst of trying to understand, along with the best ways to protect ourselves and our families. As District Leaders, we value input from staff, students, parents and community members. We have the results from the recent online survey, concerning COVID-19 protocols at Navajo Public Schools , and we plan to ask for further input from stakeholders as we approach the new school year. If you have concerns or something specific you would like us to address, please email Vicki Nance, Superintendent at vnance@navajo.k12.ok.us or call Navajo School @ 580-482-7742. We have posted the current Return to Learn plan on the Navajo Public Schools website, and we will be updating the 2021-2022 Safe Return Plan by July 16, 2021 and again by August 13, 2021, to make sure we are using the most up to date/current CDC information/recommendations, to safely start school on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Have a Safe and Happy summer!

Navajo Public Schools was notified late last night that a high school student made a concerning statement to another student. Law enforcement was contacted and conducted an investigation and determined it was not directed at the school or any specific individual. Out of extreme caution we will have law enforcement present on campus today.
