
A message from the Navajo School Foundation


Congratulations are in order for the Navajo National Honor Society and Navajo Ambassadors food drive winners! In first place, we have fifth grader Elijah Willis, who will receive $50.00! In second place, we have eighth grader, Ali Earls, who will receive $30.00. And in third place, we have Chloe Meler, who will receive $20.00.
We want to thank everyone that participated! The picture below is the second round of the can drive!!


We want to give a HUGE thank you to the Altus Fire Department for their generous donations of brand-new coats and a gift card to Walmart to buy necessities for our students, should a need arise. Thank you to Altus Fire Chief Joe Buchanan, firefighter, and Navajo alumni Sabastian Basaldua for dropping off their special delivery! We are truly blessed to have support from such a fantastic community!


Parents and Guardians, please take a few minutes to fill out this important Navajo school safety survey. It is completely anonymous; if you choose, you can leave your contact information at the end. We are trying to obtain a grant for better school safety measures, and your input is imperative! Please fill this out by tomorrow, December 14th, at 3 pm.

Don't forget that our first through third grade classes will be singing their little hearts out under the direction of Mr. Justin O'Neil, this Thursday, December 15th at 6pm in the new gym! We hope to see you there! We hear that Santa and Mrs. Claus may make an appearance!


The Navajo Ambassadors are hosting and ugly sweater day tomorrow! Be sure to wear your ugliest Christmas sweater! Please remember that dress code still applies and will be enforced.


Tomorrow, Mr. Burks is having a hot dog party for ALL student's 7th through 12th grade! He will need a little help with the sides, so please send hot dog buns, cookies, chips, or drinks to share!


Our high school basketball teams will play at Hammon on Tuesday, December 13, at 6:30 pm. We wish safe travels to our players and our spectators! Go Tribe!

Our Jr. High Basketball teams will be playing Hollis this Monday, December 12, at 4:30 pm. We hope to see you there to help show some school spirit!

Here is an updated bracket for the Best of the Southwest Tournament in Granite. Both the girls and the boys teams will be playing today against Blair. The boys are set to play at 12:20 and the girls are set to play at 4:20. Go Tribe!



Emily Smith, a financial advisor at Edward Jones, came to talk to the Personal Financial Literacy class on Friday. Mrs. Smith shared information about mutual funds, stocks, IRAs, 401 accounts, and retirement. She also brought a neat representation of stocks for the kids to remember! Thank you, Mrs. Smith!



This week kicked off Mrs. Shumaker's second week of the library Christmas puzzle challenge!




The class of 2026 is still collecting gently used shoes! Please bring your donation to the Navajo High school and drop them in the shoe box by the office.

Big congratulations to our Mid-Level Academic team for finishing runner up at the Regional OAAC Academic meet today. They started slow losing their first two games but dug deep and finished strong with 5 straight wins concluding with am overtime/sudden death victory over Fletcher to clench a spot in the area tournament in January!


Our Navajo High School Basketball teams will participate in the Best of the Southwest Tournament in Granite on December 8th, 9th, and 10th. Brackets to follow!


We are so proud of Abby Brooke and Macee Smith! Yesterday , they competed at the State AFR speech contest and represented Navajo very well.
Abby Brooks brought home 1st place in the intermediate ag policy division. Congratulations girls on a job well done!
